Jen Cat and Mama's Cat
We spent a pretty nice day in Hue as a old capital city of Vietnam. The weather is wonderful beside little rain but it just helped cool down.

When we arrived, it was like 7:00am at the morning and we just finished the overnight bus from Hanoi to Hue. I was a nice and new experience of taking the so-called luxuary VIP bus with bed. As you saw from the pictures of my last blog, you would probably know the bed was that nice. For fixed and maximum 80 degree, we can't really "laid down" and slept well. Also meanwhile, the car was super dumping that woke you up every 10mins at the same night. The bed itself is very narrow and you couldn't return around with the limited space.

After we arrived, the guestbook we wanted to stay was pretty full. We went to another one with the same company. We had breakfast at the place called mama and minh. The owner "Mama" was very super friendly. Just by passing the shop, she yelled like crazy- "food no good, mama buy" and when we passed again, she said "come back come back". It was a really warm and nice experience.

So far the people in Vietnam is really nice and always friendly. The kids are so amazing. It may be because of the education about open to people around the world.

The picture above was taken when we had breakfast at "minh and mama". Jennifer was holding this little cat. That's what "Jen-cat" she called.

Say Hi to Hue and say bye to Hanoi!

After 12 hours overnight bus from Hanoi to Hue, I tried a really new fresh experience about having a super small and hard bed. It is not bad but make me suffer back pain. If I could choose, I would prefer seat only.

The last three days in Hanoi were great and especailly for the third day. We visited a lot of tourist attraction but they are what we need to visit... like Ho Chi Minh body, musuem of independent and history musuem. The most impressive is I can see how much the vietnamese repect Ho Chi Minh.

Beside, we really ate a lot and tried many new food. It is good that Hanoi doesn't really looks like somewhere is just for tourists. The city is full of potential and I can see a country is growing...

After a super bumping bus jounery from Hanoi to Hue, we arrived the old city of vietname. We visited the old palace and kingdom of the country. If you compare to Cambodia or China, it is not a big one but you can still imagine how the kingdom was like.

Ok! My first update from Southeast Asia. Now I am hanging out with Nic, Shima and Jennifer in Hanoi old quarter. Luckily, I found a free wifi service in the coffee shop - Papa Joes Coffee. Now the guys are checking about when to get a healthy massage.

Last few days were fun and especially good to enjoy the wonderful weather in Hanoi. I didn't expect it is just around 18c everyday. It is a bit hot in the day time but dry.

The first day in Guangzhou, Shima san played an acoustic show in Reflector's China Tour and then we met some really nice people and brought us to try good food. For me, as a vegetarian, it is still a lot of choice.

The food in Hanoi is wonderful but the traffic is as bad as Guangzhou.

It reminded me the first day I went picking up the train tickets from my auntie. Heavy rain and she didn't turn on her phone. It was a bit lousy. Anyway, now we are in Hanoi and will head to Hue by tomorrow night with overnight bus. I am a bit scared of the bus serive.

Ok! friends! update again soon!

Today... just have a quick scan of some photos. Sorry... the scanner is really bad with slide. the quality is quite bad.
Anyway... just for backing up my last blog, here are some photos I took from Killing Field and S-21.
Hope to help understanding more about the country.

Killing Field
This is the place where they used to buried all the people they killed. Actually the field is really big and it is just a small part of the field. They were all naked when they got buried.

These are some head from the field. You can see some of these heads were hit instead of shoot since the army wanted to save bullets. You can imagine how much the people suffered before they died.

There is a primary school beside the killing field. You can hear the kids smiling all the time. You can't believe the killing field is just right next to you.

Yesterday just received a "postcard" from my old classmate - Chuen Chuen. I still remember he went to Xian last time with his own. This time, he went to Dailin. I love his idea about sending the photo he took instead of typical postcard. It is so nice. I would love to try doing this...

Still have 11 days to go for the next ride. I started to think about what I should bring and how to keep my money after my companies left and go home. How I can continuous another 24 days by my own. Chuen Chuen gives me confidence.

Until now, we still haven't booked the tickets from Guangzhou to Nanning. The network is still stuck. BUT I think of my relative in Guangzhou and asked for her help. Luckily, her home is really closed to Guangzhou station. Which means we don't have to rush. I also haven't figured out how I go to Yagon from Bangkok. AirAsia has a quite nice offer anyway. Let me see...

As peak season for Japan, one of the friend can't fly to Guangzhou by 20 March, so we will probably stay over night in Guangzhou but it is good that Nic would connect his friend to organize an acoustic show in Guangzhou. They may also play in Bangkok but not sure. It sounds interesting.

Yesterday I found a simplified Chinese version Lonely Planet and I don't have to spend $300 or read the one out in 2004. With those little introduction of the countries, I started feeling more interested of their culture, background, history and arts. One of the most "amusing" thing is they have the history about long inner war, occupied by European countries as their colonials and transform from some thrives countries, to be some of poorest countries in the pass and made the countries 50 years behind the others. What it tells us, war always brings recession. I looks healthy or abnormal that over 60% of population of Cambodians are kids and teenagers. Cannot teach Hong Kong...

In my last visit of Cambodia, I only saw a little part of the country and what Pol Pot and Khmer Rough did to kill over 2 millions people. I can still remember I met a young teenager Khmer in Killing Field, Phnom Penh. It was his first visit of Killing Field and he looked terribly sad about what happened to his country and the nightmare only finished not more than 30 years. I could see the sadness from his face and it is so different from the faces I saw on the road.

One of the most impressive thing I read is whether I should go Myanmar or not. Am I supporting the government? It is a old question and a good question. It made me want to know much more about the countries and their background. Yes... don't go when you are all blank.

Will update again before I left or update on the road!!
