Homemade Easy Bagel Experiment
There are actually some reasons why I have been cooking and trying new recipe a lot these days. I've baked any bread or wheat product before but I am always curious about how yeast grows and how flour rise with yeast. Yeast can be natural like from apple or grape. It means you have to make it yourself. No... I am not going to try this and I don't like bread with apple favour.
One of my favorite food is Bagel with cream cheese, chives and some salt. So, I tried to make it and have causal dinner with Nic. The first few steps don't have photo as I wasn't quite happy at the beginning with the sticky dough. The first few steps were only mixing the ingredients like honey, flour, salt, butter, water AND yeast. Then... leave it to rise and below are the rest...

Shape the dough...

Don't worry! This is not oil. Just caramel with water.

Drain them!

Bake them!

The oven is actually for toast so the bagel was a bit burnt. The taste is still good.
I don't know why I even make it as a post. I just really enjoy baking these days. It is fun!

There is nothing to do beside studying these days. Time seems too much for just studying so with inspiration from Jen and Quist. I started to do some D.I.Y. thing and something to improvement my living environment.
For house improvement, I started to use something in daily life to fix up small mess and little imperfect. I found out walnut can be used to repair those crack and scratch on the wood that have never realized!!! For the easier and healthy way to clean up the dirt on painting like the dirt from your body when you touched the plaster or wall paint. You just simply use some medical use alcohol which you are easy to find at your home to remove the dirt. It also works for like countertop. Remove candle stain from clothes, remove bad smell from the sink with vinegar or... you do some other thing... bah bah bah bah...
What I want to do is to be more environmental friendly and don't waste too much. ESPECIALLY I haven't felt any autumn breeze in this early November in Hong Kong. How well you use the material is much more important than how much you spend. Try to use less of chemical thing will bring your life better. Like for those garlic, ginger or onion you can't finish before it spouses... just try to put them in soil. You will grow another thing which is good for cooking.
For those unwanted clothes, you can just use the fabric to do something else. I am working on it but now I need a sewing machine.
Not far from Sham Shui Po. It is easy to just walk over and take a walk to those garment and jewelery material shop. With my previous experience of happy shopping in Jusco $10, I enjoy so much about making thing myself. of course, depend on my budget and what material I am in hand. It is hard for me to buy some not girlish jewelry in Hong Kong so the best way is if I can make it with my own hand. I also made some girlish jewelry for my sister's birthday...
This website is introduced by Qz... and a really nice and inspiring site about handcraft, D.I.Y. and handmade thing. Most of them are so nice!!!! These are also some other websites I found.

The cost of making this is around HK$10 and only the chain is a bit expensive.
